Waimea - The sleeping giant

The pictures don't do it justice.
Really pee'd off that the camera didn't work when there was a 30 minute lull and then an 18 wave set came through. The shorebreak was at least double the size of that in the video and some guy needed rescuing by the lifeguards.
Never seen anything like this and never will again.....

Pipeline 15 & 16 November 2012

These photos do not do the size and power of the surf justice.
An amazing wave with an amazing take off/drop.
Breaks either side are unsurfable.

Waimea is breaking so I will post some pics shortly.

Pipeline Above and Below

Pipe was bigger earlier in the morning, but after I had a surf and came in and put the GoPro on, it had dropped off quite alot and continued to drop off all day. Some of the guys out there weresurfing unbelievably well. Hitting everything in site sooo hard.
The Reef Pro at Haleiwa was put on hold today. Hopefully a good swell on its way.
Stay tuned.....

Maui

Surfed Honolua Bay today. One of the nicest places on the planet and looks like developers want to build something big here. Lets hope the locals win their fight. Swell dropping but a new swell coming in 2 days. Will try and get some better photos of the action.

Baggage handlers don't like reverse curve tails.
I fixed them at Kauai and then opened them back up at Maui and bingo, all that good work was smashed off.  At least I'm getting better at ding repairs.

Kauai

Swell on Kauai was pretty big the day I went around to the noth-west side (they called it 10-12 foot). The picture of the rolling right handers was a super heavy wave breaking on bare reef/coral. There was a nice left hander (no good for Griz) to the left of this shot that was about 8 foot.

The tranquil pic is where I surfed 2 days after this shot, Anahola Beach, it was up to 6 foot on the sets and beaking very shallow. One guy popped a fin.
