AN EARLY SUMMER

as the weather warms up and the crowds swarm down to the beach, getting a wave to yourself is
becoming increasingly more difficult, i have resorted to 4.30am starts and mid week trips.....
here are some pics of surfing without a crowd. have fun guessing where each pic was taken...
but included is a pretty big morning at the farm where i got to surf all alone plus some of lano

Hawaii has been fantastic so far.

Took a boat trip to watch the lava flow into the ocean at sunset... amazing!

Waves have been small but managed only one surf so far.

Have been to Kona - Big Island which was my favourite place so far... very laid back!

The photo of the bay showed some real potential but too small to surf!

Currently in Maui which has some nicer beaches but more up market.. hotels everywhere... but crowds no problem. Off to North Shore on Wednesday but I think the comp is on so I may have to drop in on Taj and Co at Pipe. Do you think they will get angry?

The water temperature here is amazing. I is refreshing yet warm enough to stay in all day.

Hope to get some waves soon.

October trip to the Bombing Range

dont follow me i'm lost too.....and we were as we tried to find the main track from wedge to the bombing range....the beach is  still a bit soft near south rocks and there are so many rabbit tracks to get lost on behind the dunes, when we arrived the wind was a typical lano 30 knot offshore and the swell had done an overnight runner, thanks to Willzy for taking the pics and good luck on your trip to Hawaii, look forward to
seeing some pics of you at Pipeline and Sunset taking those big late drops

Pride & Disappointment

It was with great pride to see our very own multi talented waterman Beanz stomping a man size hack at I assume Triggs this morning on www.loadedbarrel.com.au . But............my pride turned to moderate disappointment to also observe he was doing all this ...........on his feet!As often as you get out there Beanz I'll have to load you up with a bunch of the forthcoming new club stickers and insist you plaster them all over your kneelo( whens the new one rocking up!? ) and bust out these moves exclusively till 9am , after that , and the breeze comes in you are free to surf what ever you like .

THE NEW ROAD

gave the new road north a try the other week, well worth the effort
if you are thinking of giving it a run.....45km from lano turn off to wedge
township (bitumin stops 50m from the shacks).
