It’s on again !! For the 29th
successive year, Kneelo’s will be descending on “The Island” for their annual
pilgrimage. March 16th & 17th sees the running
of the 2013 Island Ink Kneeboard Pro, to be held at the best breaks around Phillip Island
The event is run by Surfing Victoria, in conjunction
with Kneeboard Surfing Victoria, and the organisers would like to thank Major
sponsor “Island Ink Tattooz and Piercing” for their support, along with Rhyll
Trout and Bush Tucker Farm, The Isle of Wight Hotel, Cowes Branch of Bendigo
Bank, Magiclands Rubbish Removal, Island Surfboards, Phillip Island
Nature Park, Strapper Surf, Flashpoint Surfing, Parkes Australia, and Neil Luke
Kneeboards.
The list of previous winners read like a who’s who of
Kneeboard Surfing, including Farrer, Colman, Bryant, Smith, Parkes, Gallagher,
Mchugh, Simpson, & Munoz,
The list gets better when you add in the Novakov’s, The
Islands own, Dean Bould, and Jethro Cooney , along with Tim Kadwell. Mike
Disciascio and a host of others.
Saturday the 16th should be a huge event as
Woolamai is being declared a “National Surfing Reserve” that day , and their
will be a very large contingent of dignitaries’ to attend the official ceremony
to be held at Woolamai. The Phillip Island Boardriders will also
celebrate their 50th anniversary the same weekend, and as part of
the festivities, They will be having a “Massive” function at the Boardriders
club on the Saturday night.
So please get your entry in early. Don’t miss out on
this weekend. Only 64 spots !!!
